Barry Rogers

Tailoring & Dressmaking Specialist

Barry has enjoyed being in the textile industry since 1983. He has worked alongside bespoke tailors, fashion designers and bridal specialists, including environments such as workrooms, cutting rooms and factories, in addition to studying at a variety of establishments including the London College of Fashion. He then started his own successful business, established in 1992, offering a fitting, alterations, tailoring and dressmaking service for personal clients and local businesses alike. Barry has also manufactured bridalwear of his own designs for a high street specialist, for which he used both traditional and modern methods.

In 2009 Barry opened his first sewing school in Southampton  offering workshops covering dressmaking, tailoring, corsetry, lingerie and millinery. The school ran until  he relocated in 2018. During this time, Barry has been fortunate to have the opportunity to work with the Costume Department of the Beamish Open-Air Museum to enhance their skills.

Later Barry also worked with the touring production of Disney’s The Lion King. During this time, he worked with the costume department working on the various beaded corsets seen in the show.

Now is your opportunity to attend one of our workshops or courses and tap into Barry’s unique skills! We hope you’ll find what you’re looking for.
